Delight to use … looking forward for future improvements
As a long-time user of the Mac catch-all bucket Yojimbo, I have to say I quite like this App, despite (or because of) its lack of features and simplicity.
Its all about the subtle attention to detail and what makes a very basic Note App really *pleasureable* to use. Beautiful Font choice, deliciously subtle animations, the List Layout view compels you to add Photos to Notes just because they look so good (say attaching a photo to a Quote, or a Recipe, or your weekend pick at the races…). Simple functionality that no-one does nearly as beautifully. Im looking at you Evernote.
Still, for $5, Im expecting some updates in the near-term:
* Text Expander support would really enable it to maintain its simplicity while being much more functional as a Notes App,
* Improved Export for me is more important than Sync (although I wouldnt complain!). Right now Copying/Sharing/Emailing a Note doesnt include Tag information, which is could be as simple as appending Note Text with a Hashtag.
* Sending a Note as a Message doesnt seem to include attached Photos, also a bit of a bummer, but it works great with Email (again, minus any Tag information).
* Landscape mode for my giant thumbs. The whole UI is designed for portrait I realize, particularly the Photo-layout.
All these critics aside, I have total, fanatical faith in QBranch - theyve set themselves up as Appstore Superheroes, and that comes with matching (& probably unfair) expectations from their Legion of fans who have already bought this App. I suspect theyll add landscape-view for the iPhone only after theyve figured out how theyd like to design an iPad version of Vesper and really start competing with Grubers old-boss with a next-generation Yojimbo type App. Considering how burnt out Rich Siegel must be trying to Add iCloud support for it, maybe hed consider simply selling it to QBranch?
