Disgusting design decisions

Vespers search box has corners that are even less rounded than Spotlights search box. This is definitely not in the style of Apple, nor does it add anything unique to the app. On the contrary, it distracts the user from Vespers otherwise lovely design. I dont know if this is how Vesper is trying to achieve a design thats a step up from iOS 8 or whatever, but its not really working. Square corners are ugly, and thats the truth.
