Wow, I was hoping for something better. The app works fine, but the design of it looks like something a coder would design. A coder who thinks he knows about typography. Clearly I could see this from the screenshots but I guess I was hoping for the ability to change it in the Settings. Even the dialog popups for deleting notes are ugly. The italic font is hideous.
There doesnt seem to be any harmony between the sidebar settings, etc and the main blue color. Blue for the top bar, grey for the side bar. No harmony. The icons look like theyre from different icon sets and the massive Q for credits just looks awkward like a heavy water balloon lying on the ground.
These may seem like nitpicking details, but for the reviewers to say it was well done is a joke. Aside from the design, the animation isnt even nice.
I cant even delete notes from the main view, but instead, have to go into each note or into the Archive where I have to swipe yet again.
Why its called Vesper or what the Q branch of Bond movies has anything to do with a notes app just comes across as arrogant and childish. Like a bunch of children getting excited about a software company and thinking how cool it would be to use technology like Q branch and then... writing a notes app? Umm, yeah. To associate this with exciting technology from Bond movies is delusional.
Wheres the cars shooting missiles? A notes app isnt supposed to be exciting of course, but I was hoping the details would be nicer. Very disappointing. the whole app to me feels boring and uninspired. Not an app I would want to use or be excited to put on my home screen. Ive been reading John Grubers blog a long time and my curiosity has led me to this. A weak app by someone I thought would know how to make something cool.
